What is Commander?
Commander is Magic: The Gathering's most popular multiplayer format. Think "casual, social, anything goes" rather than cutthroat competitive. Four players, 40 life each, 100-card decks with no duplicates except basic lands.
What's a Commander?
You pick a legendary creature as your "commander" and it defines what colors you can play. Your deck's theme usually matches your commander. If you pick an Elf commander, you're probably building an Elf deck.
